About Us
We are a local, family-owned and-operated small business and date our roots back to grandad’s painting company founded in 1926. All our employees live in towns such as Apex, Cary, Raleigh, and Morrisville, and we shop locally too to support our local stores and merchants. We are also fully insured and bonded as well.
Our Mission:
- Our Clients are the foundation for everything we do. Ultimately, what is in their best interest is also in our own best interest.
- Our Clients deserve courtesy and professionalism at all times in product installation and in service and repair work.
- Our Client’s premises are left as clean as - or cleaner than - we found them.
- Our Client estimates contain no gimmicks, no sharp practices, and no double-talk.
- Our Client’s property is treated with the same care and respect we show our own.
- Our Clients are financially protected because we are fully insured and because safety is a key priority for us.
In sum, our guiding principle is this: if we wouldn’t put a given product on our own home or business, then we certainly are not going to put that product on a Client’s home or business either. Whatever products and services we offer for sale are the very same products and services that we ourselves use at home and in the workplace, and this is one of the reasons why we warranty our work and stand behind whatever we do.
Safety
All of our ladder equipment either meets or exceeds OSHA as well as ANSI standards. Also, we are a zero tolerance employer concerning the use or possession of alcohol or drugs on the job. Ladder work requires absolute sobriety at all times, and we adhere strictly to this policy. In addition, we take extensive safety precautions such as anchoring and tethering our ladders when needed, which most competitors do not do. Also, the wide range of specialized tools we carry with us enables our employees to safely clean hard to reach gutters and to work in areas where access to gutters may be restricted or partly blocked. There are more than 200,000 ladder accidents in the U.S. each year according to OSHA. Doesn’t become a statistic; entrust the ladder work to us.

These two photos (above) illustrate some of our extensive safety precautions during a recent installation of gutter guards in Apex. The close up on the left shows a black anti-skid wedge placed under the ladder's lowest rung. Also visible just above this wedge is one of our 100-pound cement anchors, which is tied to the ladder to ensure that the metal feet can not slip or slide around. We carry several of these heavy anchors with us at all times as extra insurance for a very steady ladder.
The photo on the right shows an orange warning cone which has been placed near the bottom of the ladder. It was one of several orange cones placed nearby to alert anyone who might be coming or going to the presence of our workers and their equipment and also to safely direct any foot traffic around the work site.
Methods of payment
Payment is expected at the time of service unless we’ve made an exception for you in advance. We gladly accept checks or cash or VISA and MasterCard. When ordering, please specify the gutter guard color: white, brown or black. (Note that we may have to wait 1-2 days for brown or black to arrive.)

Delinquent accounts
Accounts are considered to be in arrears if payment is not received within 30 days of the date of service and accrue interest at 19% per annum. A $35 surcharge will be added to returned checks to cover the fee that our bank charges us.
Disclaimer on certain liabilities
We truly make every effort not to step on flowers or damage anyone’s landscaping. However, there simply are situations where the only safe position for a ladder may involve placing it in a flower bed. We apologize in advance. We cannot be held liable for harm to landscaping, though, when the safety of human beings is at stake, and we appreciate your understanding in this regard. Similarly, we make every effort not to place our ladders against a gutter. Our trucks carry special braces with them at all times which almost always means that our ladder will not be leaned against your gutter. If we must place a ladder against a gutter as a last resort, it is for safety’s sake, and we cannot be held liable for any resulting harm to the gutter in order to protect people.
Weather dependent working conditions
We ask our valued customers to understand that gutter guard installation and repair work on siding boards are both highly dependent on good weather. Gusty winds, rain, cold temperatures, or water logged soil, ozone days, and high heat indexes during Summer and Spring can each force a rescheduling for safety reasons and also to protect your turf from being gouged by the feet of heavy ladders, in the case of soft soil. Please be aware too that weather conditions sometimes vary considerably in different parts of the Triangle. Thermometers in my neighborhood are often several degrees different than what Raleigh-Durham Airport is saying the temperature is where they are. Several times this past year it has occurred that although it was raining in our part of western Wake County, customers called to say that it was sunny in their Raleigh neighborhoods. However, we go by the data found on www.weather.com.
Generally speaking, building materials such as caulk and paint ought to be applied when the temperature of the air is above 50 degrees. So when the temperature is less than 50 - or when the wind speed is above 5 mph because that interferes with ladder work – we usually do not do outdoor work that day. Rest assured, we will return to the job as soon as the temperature rises above 50, although that might not occur until 2 or 3 days later. Your job will remain in our queue and will still be handled as quickly and as professionally as possible. During the Winter when temperatures may be quite low, the work day might not start until 10:30 or 11 a.m. and have to end early at perhaps 4 p.m. when the sun goes over the horizon and temperatures begin to fall. Would we prefer to have longer work days than that? Obviously, but we just don’t control the weather.
We are fully insured for your financial protection:
We are fully insured, that is, we have both liability and Workmen’s Comp. We encourage you to check on anyone you’re considering hiring. You can verify our insurance status by calling insurance agent Robbie Clark at 557-0177 in Fuquay-Varina. Are other vendors you are considering really insured? Are they also licensed and bonded, as we are? Remember: it is not illegal for contractors to misrepresent themselves as having insurance when in fact they do not. This is a very common occurrence in North Carolina.
Are you really protected from their lawsuits? Make sure that you protect your financial assets by insisting that their insurance agent provide you with proof of both of their currently valid insurance policies – one policy for property damage and also one policy for Workmen’s Comp. Due to the relative expense of Workmen’s Comp, many contractors just skip that policy. They can do that because North Carolina law does not require companies or individuals to carry Workmen’s Compensation.
The only way to be sure of a contractor’s insurance coverage is to actually check with his insurance agent. Our experience in hiring contractors and vendors for work around our own homes and business is that well over 90% do not have Workmen’s Comp, and the lack of Workmen’s places your financial assets, including home, in jeopardy.
